One of the longer discussions related to another EnCana well request.  After a lengthy conversation, the BOT directed staff to prepare a description of all the well locations in the Erie planning area before bringing any further well drilling applications to the BOT.

Erie is in a geologic area that has significant natural gas resources.  I think it is important to know the scope of future drilling in the area, and to make sure Erie's citizens know what to expect in the future.  Where the BOT has limited legal authority over the drilling operations, the Colorado Oil and Gas Commission has primary regulatory authority.  Click to link to the Colorado Oil and Gas Commission site.

I have been appointed to continue my liaison role with the Open Space and Trails Advisory Board (OSTAB) and I am looking forward to working with this dedicated group.  I was also appointed as a liaison with the Erie Economic Development Council (EEDC) and with overseeing the implementation of the Economic Development Plan.  These are both important activities to making our Town vital and successful.
